The right of sentenced persons to teleworking – exercising a right in step with technology –

Abstract

The provision of paid work by persons deprived of their liberty represents, on the one hand, the exercise of a right recognised by national law and, on the other hand, an opportunity for them to reintegrate into society at the end of their sentence. Technological developments, against the background of regulations already existing in Law 254/2013, should lead to the introduction of new provisions allowing prisoners to work in telework.
